We conduct both basic and applied research on robotics with
regard to its scientific and engineering aspects, and combine
practical and theoretical approaches to solve real-world
problems. Our research topics include Multi-Robot Systems, Human-Robot Interaction, Robot Learning, and
Robot
Design & Control, and we explore problems of
design, planning and control, and algorithms in these areas
and apply them to field robotics and to assistive technology
and robotics. Recently, we have worked on designing algorithms
and systems to enable multiple robots to collaborate with each
other in a distributed way and to work with humans as a
multi-human-multi-robot team. We have also studied how
learning methods can enable robots to flexibly interact with
any humans, in any situation, anywhere. Please visit the links
on the left of this page and the publication
section for further information regarding specific
projects and research ongoing in the SMART Lab.
The SMART Lab operates its own YouTube Channel where you can
watch lab's past and current project demo videos and its
introductory videos. Also, the lab operates its own GitHub
repositories where you can check out and download lab's past
and current project programming codes. To visit our YouTube
